Duteau Plant On Stream Next Month Water Complaints

A stream of water quality complaints from residents of Middleton Mountain is expected to end once the Duteau Creek treatment plant comes on line. Both Coldstream and the North Okanagan Regional District have had numerous complaints from East Kal Lake users, now on combination Duteau Creek water, over boil water notices and the ugly, yellow tinge. NORD's engineering manager Arnold Badke says those problems should disappear once the plant is online. He expects that to happen in mid-September. However, Coldstream councillor Gyula Kiss says he remains doubtful and will wait to see the results. On the amount of water in those reservoirs which feed Duteau Creek, Badke says they are still high and the area should be in good shape going into the autumn. He says the Kal Lake level is also at a good level.
