Wayne Moore - Castanet Aug 24, 2010:
There's a change near the top within the Kelowna RCMP Detachment. Veteran Inspector Cam Forgues is moving on after more than six years with the Kelowna Detachment. Forgues has accepted a position with the Southeast District. "I certainly leave with mixed feeling. I've been here just over six years and it's been a great place to be," says Forgues. "I know will be reporting to Chief Superintendent Don Harrison who was once in charge of the city. My duties will involve strategic planning for each of the smaller detachments throughout the Southeast District. That district includes everything from the Alberta border to the U.S. border to Barrier and Merritt."
The Southeast District office is situated in Kelowna making the move that much easier for Forgues who says it took him long to get to the city he wanted to work in since leaving depot. "When I graduated from depot in 1979 they asked me where I wanted to be posted and I said 'Kelowna.' It took me 25 years to get here and I'm not leaving."
