Moberley Lake man dies of injuries sustained in assault

On July 30th, 2010, at 5:45 PM, the Chetwynd RCMP were called to an area in the 5700 Block of the South Access Road for a report of a man down. Upon attendance RCMP officers located a local man in a wooded area off a residential/commercial area. The male was suffering from undetermined injuries. The male was identified as Harley James ALLISON 48 yrs old of the Moberly Lake area. Mr ALLISON was initially transported to the Chetwynd Regional Hospital for assessment then flown to Vancouver General Hospital. Doctors at VGH examined the injured man, where it was confirmed that ALLISON had been assaulted and that his prognosis was dire. In the early morning hours of August 1st, 2010, Mr ALLISON passed away as a result of his injuries. The matter is now being investigated as a homicide. The investigation is being conducted by Chetwynd RCMP and the North District Major Crimes Unit.
