MIRAMICHI, N.B. — Nearly 600 federal public servants will be moved to Miramichi by 2016 as the government centralizes its pay services, Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced Thursday. The modernization of the government's 40-year-old pay system for public servants will replace what Harper called current outdated and labour-intensive information technology systems, saving Canadians money over the long run and ensuring more efficient service. The move "will save taxpayers millions of dollars and create hundreds of jobs in Miramichi," said Harper. "This is part of our government's ongoing commitment to increase the effectiveness of public service operations and eliminate unnecessary costs," he said.

So how does moving 600 people to NB save money and the added comment that it will also create hundreds of new jobs?
Logic seems to have disappeared in the press release.
