Animals in travelling circuses are still welcome in Vernon. City council was asked to consider a bylaw banning exotic species in the community. Mayor Wayne Lippert says council decided it wasn't needed so if they come to town they can set up shop. He says council has decided to let the province and Ottawa enforce regulations dealing with exotic animals and pets. There were a few protestors this summer when the circus stopped in Vernon.
