The issue of fire dispatch in the North Okanagan still has some politicians fired up. Vernon Mayor Wayne Lippert says there's more to dispatch the sending trucks, but that's all the Regional District is going to get going with the Fraser Valley bid. Lippert says they did pass a motion not to rescind the original by-law to allow the city to provide the service, until the new deal takes place. Lumby Mayor Kevin Acton says it is unfortunate the service isn't staying local, but the contract is only for five years and he's hoping it can return.
