Three robberies, two suspects

Three separate robberies took place in Vernon on Saturday. The first took place at the Peoples store at 3700 27th Street at 5:34 p.m. RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk says the second was at the Village market at 1900 32nd Street at 8:13 p.m. and the third occurred at Relic’s Lakeside Store at 7892 Ok Landing Road just minutes later at 8:26 p.m. “The suspect vehicle was located by two of our Citizens on Patrol who heard the description of the vehicle and started to look for it. They located the vehicle in the area of the 7-11 at 39th Avenue and 32nd Street,” says Molendyk. He says they called the police and two suspects were arrested in a stolen Honda that had been reported stolen earlier in the day from Kamloops. “One 35-year-old man with no fixed address from Kamloops and a 23-year-old woman with no fixed address from Vernon are expected to appear in court to face charges of armed robbery and possession of stolen property.”
