A 67 year old Vernon trucker says he's done with that job. Alex Fraser stopped his rig on the highway near Blue River late Friday night to help a couple of men with their hood up when he was attacked from behind by a third individual. He was left at the side of the road and didn't regain consciousness for some time. He managed to crawl back to the truck and into the sleeper, and awakening early Saturday managed to drive the 34 kilometers into Blue River .He underwent reconstructive surgery last night in Kamloops to repair an eye socket and three broken cheek bones.RCMP say they have no suspects.
