The RCMP report that Vancouver police actually had a missing Vernon man in their sights on Saturday. Spokesperson Gord Molendyk says 85-year-old Adrian Ledrew was taken by police to St. Paul's Hospital  because he was suffering from shortness of breath. Ledrew left hospital a short time later and his whereabouts are still unknown. Ledrew left his Vernon care facility last Friday, telling staff he was off to Victoria by bus. His family is worried he may not be taking medication for a bi-polar disorder. The RCMP are still asking for the public's assistance in locating Ledrew. Police say he is prescribed medication, which permits him to control a bi-polar type condition.  His family is concerned that he could become manic if off his medication and may have difficulty in coping with social and public settings.  He requires either a walker or a wheelchair to assist his mobility, but left the home without either. He's described as Caucasian, balding with grey hair, 85 years old, 5'10", slim build, wears glasses and a beard and normally wears a hat. Last clothing worn is unknown.  Adrian used to live in the Victoria area about 15 years ago, but does not currently have any family or friends in the area.  It is this past history to the area that may have prompted him to head to Vancouver Island.
Anyone seeing him or having information regarding his current whereabouts is asked to contact their local police services or the Vernon RCMP at 250-545-7171.
