Province Checks Out Lumby Jail - Officials will visit village

A senior BC Corrections official will be visiting Lumby in the near future to look at a proposed site for a possible correctional facility. Mayor Kevin Acton says the department's corporate executive officer for new construction will be arriving in the next few weeks. He explains the province will be looking at space, infrastructure and the availability of people to work.  Acton says the Solicitor General, who he met with in September, has been encouraging. The Village presented the province with a possible plan for a facility on land set aside for industrial use.
