Vernon's Chris Baryla has advanced to the final stage of the PGA Tour's qualifying school. The two-time B.C. Junior champion shot a three-under par 69 in Saturday's final round at a second stage Q school site in Seaside, Calif., to finish at eight-under par and tied for 13th spot. The top 19 and ties at Seaside advanced to the Q school finals, which go Dec. 1-6 in Winter Garden, Fla. Baryla will now have an opportunity to earn full-time status for the 2011 PGA Tour. But even if he's not successful at the final stage, Baryla has a medical exemption that will get him into a limited number of events early next year. Back and hip problems kept Baryla on the sidelines for much of the 2010 season.
