Changes to water rates could end up hitting Greater Vernon residents in the wallet. Regional politicians are looking into a new fee system that could be implemented next year. It could include base fees for low, medium and heavy water users. Coldstream councillor Gyula Kiss says based on current costs, the changes could increase water fees by anywhere from 17 to 123 percent. He says the rates need to cover the 8 million dollar cost of running the water system, along with another 3 million to cover borrowing funds for systems upgrades.

Keep on raising those prices and we wont have to worry about water shortages anymore! Nobody will be able to afford it.....this is total BS!
