The District of Coldstream's new fire chief, by acclamation, is firefighter Dave Sturgeon. Although currently on holidays in Hawaii, Sturgeon says he is looking forward to the new challenge with the support of the newly-elected executive. Sturgeon replaces Leo Lecavalier who is retiring after 27 years as a volunteer, more than half of that as chief of the volunteer fire department. Lecavalier says he'll be around to help with the transition. Meanwhile, BX-Silverstar fire chief Bill Wacey will remain in his position. Wacey was returned as chief by acclamation on Friday. He has held the position for 13 years.
