Vernon is going to have to invest new money into its fire dispatch system now that it has gone it's own way from the North Okanagan Regional District. Emergency program manager Brent Watson says the current equipment has reached, and in some cases, exceeded its serviceable use. He says the status quo is not an option as the equipment is a public and life safety issue. He's recommending 209-thousand dollars be spent for an enhanced system, which would also include 62-thousand in ongoing costs.
DON QUIXOTE VS. CITY HALL When an American gets mad, he says "where's my Gun". When a Canadian gets pissed off he says "Where is my pen, I'm going to send a letter to the EDITOR". When the EDITOR won't publish his letter he sets up his own BLOG page. When I received enough support to get a Council Seat the dogma of the establishment became : "Better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside pissing in." (Only time will tell !)
