Vernon's mayor is not ready to leave political office just yet. Wayne Lippert indicates he will seek a third term in November. He tells KISS FM, "For all intents and purposes right now, I expect to run for mayor again." He says part of the reason is wanting to complete projects that have been started. "There's always more to do so that's kind of a cliche. I think the biggest (reason) is I've said as long I've had something to contribute and the support of people, I would carry on." Meantime, Lippert has been re-elected GVAC chairman, defeating Area C director Mike Macnabb in an undisclosed vote. Lippert says parks and water issues are still front and centre. "It would be nice some resolution to these challenges and I'm always confident there can be, it's just a matter of getting people to look at the overall picture for everybody." Macnabb will serve as the committee's vice chair and says his run for chair was not a shot at Lippert's leadership. "No I don't think so. It's a personality, a style. That's all."
