B.C. politicians return to work at the legislature Monday for a bizarre oneweek session that includes a lame-duck throne speech and a budget no one intends to pass. MLAs, who have been on a 256-day break since they last met on June 3, gather for a four-day work week before breaking again. Much of their time is expected to be an exercise in paper pushing while the real action happens on the periphery in the ongoing leadership races of both main political parties.
