Hesperia Borrows Over 1.14-Million From City Of Vernon
The Hesperia Development Corporation is borrowing just over $1.14-million from the City of Vernon to start off-site work, such as sewer and water, on the 69-acre parcel in Okanagan Landing. The land is set to be used for future attainable housing, once the real estate market heats up. Councillor Bob Spiers voted against the borrowing. ``We're three or four years from even selling a property out there or even putting a house up on one so why should we do it now?'' asks Spiers. The City rezoned the property last month to clear the way for interested developers.
