Bones part of archeological site

Members from the Vernon General Investigation section working together with the Provincial Coroners Identification and Disaster Response Unit, and an Anthropologist have located further remains from an orchard off Pleasant Valley Rd.  They have determined that this is an ancient archeological site.  The site remains taped off and has been turned over to the Coroners branch and the Provincial Archeology Branch, as they will continue to work at this site.  The Vernon/North Okanagan RCMP have worked closely with the property owners while they were waiting for the results of the Anthropologists findings. The police have been in touch with the Okanagan Indian Band who have been advised of the findings. All other local bands will be contacted by the Archeology Branch. The RCMP would like to thank the Vernon Search and Rescue Society for the many hours they assisted searching the site as well.
