**Update 4:22PM**
BC Hydro crews have had their hands full today, dealing with a couple of power outages.
The first cut service to over 2-thousand customers in parts of Vernon's downtown, and impacted traffic lights, snarling traffic for about 45 minutes before service was restored. A second outage occurred shortly after, also affecting about 2-thousand homes and businesses north of 21st Ave and south of Stickle Road. The cause of that is not specified but the estimate on restoration is 8PM
The first one was the result of a vehicle hitting a power pole on 29th Street.
Power is out in part of Vernon's downtown, affecting businesses and traffic control. BC Hydro's Gene Bryant says the outage was caused by a vehicle knocking down a power pole in the 44 hundred block of 29th Street, impacting service for over two thousand customers. The agency hopes to restore service by 5 o clock. The traffic lights at several key intersections are not working, and drivers are reminded to use the four way stop system.
