Interior Health Announces New Acute Area Director for North Okanagan


Allan Sinclair, VP Acute Services for Interior Health announced Moday that Nancy Serwo has been appointed as Acute Area Director for the North Okanagan effective October 25, 2011. In this role, Ms. Serwo will work closely with physicians and staff at Vernon Jubilee Hospital to ensure delivery of high quality patient care to residents of the North Okanagan. She has spent the last 19 years working in various roles with Interior Health in Tertiary, Acute, Community and Residential Care.  She will be joining us from her current role in Tertiary Services as Director, Health Services at Kelowna General Hospital. Ms. Serwo is committed to professional development and ongoing education, she holds a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Interior Health conducted a rigorous search to fill this position after Pat Furey retired as Area Director in June.

Who would want to manage the most overcrowded hospital in the province?

What is the point in appointing someone to a position that has no meaning, when the IHA is cutting back the number of beds for Acute patients in the North Okanagan?
