For the third time in less than a week, there's been a vehicle-cyclist collision in Vernon. The latest happened at Allenby and Bella Vista Road Wednesday night. The RCMP's Gord Molendyk says a car driver was not paying attention and hit a 43 year old male cyclist who had the right of way. The cyclist was taken to hospital with injuries not considered to be serious. The car driver was ticketed for an unsafe left turn. Two other recent crashes were the fault of the cyclists.
A 12 year old boy ran into a vehicle on 45th Street Tuesday, suffering minor injuries, while a 27 year old man suffered head and leg injuries on 27th Street last Friday, both a result of mistakes by the cyclists. Meantime, a 27 year old male driver was ticketed for speeding after hitting two parked cars on Okanagan Avenue Wednesday night, with no serious injuries.
