There's only so much money to go around. That's the message Vernon Liberal MLA Eric Foster is getting from
provincial officials as he awaits word on bed funding for the hospital,
and if Lumby will get the nod for a 250 million dollar new prison. The
MLA says, "We're trying to come up with more beds for hospitals, money
for schools and highways. Someone mentioned recently it was a matter of
priorities, it's all about priorities. You've got a finite amount of
money and you've got to spread it out." Foster will be presenting a six-thousand name petition supporting
more bed funding, to the Health Minister this week, and is still hopeful
Victoria will come through with money to reduce hospital overcrowding. "Nobody has come out and said no to me, that we're not going to do
it, so I guess that's a slightly positive thing, but at this point I
haven't had anything more than that." Foster met with Premier Christy Clark on the issue last week. The new 180 million dollar Polson Tower begins moving and treating
patients this Sunday, and Foster says an official opening will be held
October 13th.

"Omly so much money to go around". Eh? Guess that would include the $563M to put a retractable(?????) roof on BC Place.
Time for an enema.
What Eric meant to say was "Now that we've blown the budget on the Olympics, the HST fight and the retractable roof, there's only so much money to go around". The only motivation to hospital funding is the potential loss of a liberal seat.
