We've got a date. The Agricultural Land
Commission will hold its second hearing on a bid for an outdoor sports
facility at Okanagan College's Vernon campus on October 25th. College
spokesperson Allan Coyle says a delegation, led by Vernon dean Jane
Lister, will speak to the Commission on that date. This is the second
attempt to win approval after the ALC rejected a plan to use ten acres
of College land for the 7.8-million dollar facility. That land lies
within the Agricultural Land Reserve. Coyle says this time ``there are
points to be made about the breadth of community support for the idea.''
