Local politicians could give the go ahead this week to the Greater Vernon's next major water project.
RDNO staff are seeking early budget approval for the West Swan Lake Separation Project costing 5.8 million dollars. Three million of that would be new funds required from water customers, while the rest would be carry over funds from this year. Staff say Goose Lake is the worst potable water source in the area, with the highest risk to human health . The project would provide a safer source to the 350 homes on that
supply, and allow the water to be used for farming during the peak
season.
