Voter Turnout Up In Vernon

The advance polls are showing more voter interest in Vernon's races for mayor and council.  Chief elections officer Patti Bridal says the city has had 1,283 voters over the first two days, a 37 percent increase over the 935 in 2008.  Three candidates are running for mayor, and 15 for council.
In Coldstream 305 ballots have been cast, slightly less than in 2008 (327).
Those two communities are holding their final advance polls today until 8, at the municipal offices.
Armstrong had 139 voters over their two days, Spallumcheen, 142. ( 127 in 2008.)   Enderby had  93, with 40 for the Regional District of North Okanagan seat in Area F, the only one of RDNO's five electoral area not decided by acclamation.
