Snowpack Levels Improving

Coldstream CreekGreater Vernon Water is tracking the latest climate data to help predict water supply levels.  Water sustainability coordinator Jennifer Miles says the Duteau Creek readings show the water content of the snow is 98 percent of average, while the snow depth is 88 percent of average.  "And we still have a significant amount of time left in terms of snow accumulations. We usually look until April or May, so we're only halfway at this point." Miles says the warmer weather has left more water in the snow, which is good. The regional climate and snowpack trends will be released Wednesday which will provide  information on the Okanagan Basin, which affects the Kalamalka Lake water source.
