Museum Leak Not Cause To Debate New Building

Written by Peter McIntyre 107.5 KISSFM  Friday, 04 May 2012 15:53 Greater Vernon MuseumA leak at the Greater Vernon Museum building has been fixed, and a government official doesn't see the problem as a reason to debate if a new building is needed. Some clean-up and repair was needed April 26th after heavy rain caused water damage in the building but no artifacts were impacted. Regional District of North Okanagan administrator Trafford Hall told Greater Vernon Advisory Committee members, the rain overwhelmed a plugged drain which has been repaired. Hall told Kiss FM, "The inadequacies or adequacies of the building is a completely different question, and that question should not be advanced by one problem which has been resolved already." Museum officials used the incident to point out in the media, the need for a new building, which was briefly discussed but no action taken by local politicians at this week's GVAC meeting.
