Jim Garlick says he will decide in the next couple weeks if he will run again for Coldstream mayor. Garlick says, at the very least, he will run for councillor, but he would like to see someone with strong community ties seek the mayor's chair. "I would like to see someone with the interests of Coldstream at heart, to come forward. For someone like that, I would be proud to serve on council with, but I haven't heard of anyone like that at this time." Garlick, a high school science teacher, has spent six years as Coldstream's mayor, and says if he does win a seat, it would definitely be his last term. "It will be a four year stint this next time around, and I think that will be a good enough term." Garlick says he will be talking with his councillors to see who is going to run again, before making his decision.
