Spallumcheen is taking a look at its options for water services in its southern area, north of Swan Lake. Mayor Janice Brown says they've hired Urban Systems to do a full feasibility analysis. "With the Greater Vernon Water master plan being in limbo, we don't know if it's going to be possible for them to provide a source or supply of water to the south of Spallumcheen," says Brown. Brown says they're trying to see if there's another source of water in the township, possibly ground water, so there could be a reserve coupled to a distribution network. The analysis will be covered from gas tax revenues. Brown says their own system could be well water based, or individual properties could have separate wells.
