A local group continues to push for changes to Greater Vernon's water system. "The Citizens for Changes to the Master Water Plan" holds a public forum tonight. Spokesman Terry Mooney says they are concerned about a lack of action after last fall's defeated water referendum. "We're concerned that the Regional District and the Water Utility have not moved in the direction that public will expressed by defeating the referendum." The group wants a new look at the plan that could find a new focus, and reduce costs for residents. Mooney says they feel the current system isn't working, and needs a review."In terms of the increasing costs for the system to deliver water to the public and for the public to be able to afford to pay for these costs." The meeting is at 7 tonight at the Schubert Centre on 30th Avenue. "We want people to come and express their views and to sign a petition to move this process along." Mooney says last year's vote showed residents want no more money spent on the Duteau Creek system, and more focus on Okanagan and Kal lakes.
