The first advance vote for the Greater Vernon arena referendum had more than one thousand people casting ballots. 736 voted at Vernon City Hall, 190 in Coldstream, and 186 at the regional district for a total of 11-hundred and 12. The referendum will decide if RDNO can borrow $13.25 million to add a second ice sheet at Kal Tire Place. Another advance vote will be held next Wednesday, with the main voting day on the 28th. On general voting day, polling stations will be located at BX Elementary, Coldstream Elementary, Ellison Elementary, Silver Star School, and the Vernon Recreation Center Auditorium. Qualified electors within the City of Vernon, District of Coldstream and Electoral Areas “B” and “C” of the Regional District of North Okanagan may vote at ANY of the voting locations.
