It's too early to tell if all the rain we've had over the last week will have any effect on local resevoirs and water table levels. Jennifer Miles, Water Sustainability Co-ordinator for the Regional District of North Okanagan says readings last week showed levels were average. "We look at our resevoir levels over the last ten years and they're at about the same level, height of water that we would normally see over the course of that ten year period of data collection" There is concern with El Nino predictions that we will see a drier winter than normal, which is why the region is still on Stage One water restrictions. Residents are urged to continue to be water wise through what could be an El Nino winter with lighter snowpacks.
