Second Poll Held For Arena Referendum

Posted on 11/26/2015 by Pete McIntyre 107.5 KISSFM
Even more voters turned out for the second advance poll for the Greater Vernon arena referendum. 998 voted at Vernon City Hall Wednesday, and 434 at the regional district office for a total of 1,432. There was no voting at the Coldstream District office which was closed Wednesday due to a gas spill at the nearby Centex gas station. Combined with the first advance poll, it raises the count to 2,544 which is about 5 percent of the more than 47,000 eligible voters. General voting day will be Saturday with polling stations located at BX Elementary School, Coldstream Elementary School, Ellison Elementary School, Silver Star School and Vernon Recreation Center Auditorium. Qualified electors within the City of Vernon, District of Coldstream and Electoral Areas “B” and “C” of the Regional District of North Okanagan may vote at ANY of the voting locations. The question asks if RDNO can borrow 13.25 million dollars to add a second ice sheet at Kal Tire Place. For further information, call 250.550.3700 or visit the RDNO website at http://www.rdno.ca/index.php/about/elections-other-voting.
