Funding For Cycling Projects

Vernon, BC, Canada / 1075 KISS FM Pete McIntyre March 13, 2017 05:28 pm
Vernon and Coldstream will receive a combined sum of $637,468 in BikeBC funding this year. MLA Eric Foster says projects receiving BikeBC funding include $200,804 for the District of Coldstream for a Coldstream Creek Multi-Use shoulder, and $436,664 for the City of Vernon for the Okanagan Rail Trail Connector (Kalamalka Lake Road Mutli-Use Path) and 29th/30th Street Transportation Corridor Phase 5. “This BikeBC funding will help develop several pathways, including the scenic route along the Kalamalka Lake,” says Foster. “This investment allows Vernon and Coldstream residents to enjoy their beautiful towns and B.C.’s great outdoors.” BikeBC is the Province’s cost-sharing program that helps communities build cycling projects that attract and support commuter and tourism cyclists.
