Greater Vernon Water Agreement

http://www.vernon.thesun.net/node/410416
Vernon area Politicians seemed to have resolved their issues over who's in control of water and the distribution of it. Vernon, Coldstream and area B and C NORD directors have an agreement in principle that will allow each local government will manage its own water system. GVS Water Manager, Al Cotsworth says Greater Vernon Services won't be involved in things like repairs to broken water pipes, that will be up to each municipality. He says customers won't really even notice the change. If the deal is finalized GVS will own and supply the water. As for the water supply, Cotsworth says because we had a hot dry summer and reserves are lower than average because this was the 5th driest summer in the last 8 years...but he says if we have an average snow pack this winter we won't have any water worries next year.
