Vernon City Council has yet to decide whether or not the
Vernon LandCorporation will continue to receive an honorarium. Rob Mayne said the city’s finance committee has not yet come up with a proposal for the future of the honorariums. Council will make a decision as part of the completed city budget.The city has not paid the Land Corporation members their $6,000 honorariums for this year. Mayne said council will have to first decide if the two newest corporation members will get a partial honorarium for 2006. The 2007 city budget will be finalized a few weeks later than the city had hoped, Mayne said. The new due date for the financial document is early January.
