Vernon 12th in least affordable housing in B.C.

Canadian Business Canada's Best Places to Live 2007
Phil Froats and Duncan Hood From the April 2007 issue of MoneySense
Our 2007 Best Places to Live spans 123 communities from coast to coast. It is the most complete and objective guide we know of to finding paradise within Canada's borders. Whether you're considering a move, looking to invest, pondering where to retire, or simply wondering how your city rates against others, our ranking can provide you with the insights you need.
-------------------------------
You can find all the data at above link and a ranking of the 123 communities. Ahead of Penticton were all of its Okanagan counterparts, including Kelowna, which ranked at an equally harsh 103, Kamloops at less-than stellar 93 and Vernon — the top ranked Okanagan city — at 89. Penticton Western Penticton scores poorly in ranking of Canadian cities

Don Quixote note: I used some of the data to compare the affordability of housing in the Cities studied in this survey. The time to buy a house was calculated by dividing the average house prices by the average pre-tax household incomes for the community and is the ratio figure. In the table below I have ranked it from least affordable to most affordable.
