It's apparently not a new position, but a well-paying job being offered by NORD does have a new title. The regional district is taking applications for 'Director' of the Greater Vernon Water Utility. The posting indicates the person will be responsible for overall management of the utility, plus providing project management for future expansion projects. Greater Vernon Services chairman Gary Corner says it's not a new position but one that was formerly called 'Project Manager' that hasn't been filled since the last person left. He says the water director will have different responsibilities than the water manager, the position held by Al Cotsworth, such as overseeing the new Duteau Creek treatment plant. The director's position offers a salary range of between 80 and 93 thousand dollars. Applications are being taken until the end of this month.
