Casino extracts more than 28 million from local economy. (Enough to pay for 1 new Library/Civic Complex.)

Although Lake City Casino took out $28,540,144 in the same period you can see that the Host City of Vernon actually only received $1,763,005 which is only 6.18% of gross. This would indicate that the net would be $17,630,005 and the difference of 10,910,139 or 38.22% represents overhead costs.

As the BCLC has approved a further 2% of gross to be applied against future expansion costs the overhead costs before Vernon got their 10% cut of net would rise to 40.22%. This 2% increase would lower Vernon's take by $57,080 if the same gross was used.

Below are Host Government shares around the provinces and the amount of their take since 1999 up to and including the first 3 months (Apr 1-June 30 2007) of the new fiscal year. CLICK TO ENLARGE
