Vernon residents will go the polls next year, to decide if the library-civic complex proceeds.City council decided to hold a referendum on January 26-th after discussing options in a three hour special meeting. The complex has been in limbo since August when an approval petition was shot down by six-thousand residents.Councillor Patrick Nicol says the question will ask if people want the project to proceed. The amount the city would borrow will be either 20 or 30 million dollars, depending on the Okanagan Regional Library's committment to the project.Councillor Barry Beardsell agreed with holding the vote, but wanted it held in November 2008 to allow more time to answer all the questions. The price tag will be 31 million dollars which includes room for the Art Gallery, a more stylish design, and a slightly larger library building.

Very misleading quote by the radio station-"slightly larger library building" Does he mean even larger than the last plan that went from approx 13,000sq ft to 30,000sq ft?
