Police are still looking for suspects after ten Vernon businesses had their front doors and windows smashed in B & E's.Vernon's Safe Communities Unit says Vernon businesses aren't being targeted by thieves anymore than any other community. He has heard of stores being cased during the day by people taking pictures with cell phones.Manager, Terry Packenham says it can help thieves in planning.Packenham says both Kelowna and Kamloops have also seen an increase in B & E's at businesses.He says with the thieves smashing in doors and windows all owners can do is install bars on their windows and doors and move items that can easily be taken in a smash and grab. Packenham says it's not difficult to get rid of hot property, including parking lot transactions. He says everyone in the community needs to keep their eyes open and report these crimes to police.
