The final tab for the defeated library civic complex in Vernon, was $373,000. That includes the cost of the referendum and counter petition, and fees paid to professional firms to design the plans. The Okanagan Regional Library covered $110,000 of the amount, leaving city taxpayers on the hook for just over a quarter million dollars. ($263,000) The figures are in a report to be given to city council Monday by Finance manager Kevin Bertles. The referendum to borrow up to $30 million dollars for the complex was defeated by a margin of 71 percent in January.
