City to discuss need for space

By Peter McIntyre 107.5 KISSFM

A special meeting of Vernon city council this week will look into the future space needs for city staff and the RCMP. The city is using rented office space to meet the short term needs for the growing number of staff but Friday's meeting will look at solutions past the next five years. At least two councillors, Jack Gilroy and Juliette Cunningham told the Morning Star, they support taking another look at the civic complex plan that was shot down in a January referendum by a 71 percent margin. Cunningham says another option is the city owned Coldstream Hotel site.
