Breaking News: Local Councillor May try for a TRIACTOR.

Citing a little known clause in the election act that allows a person to run for more than one office within the regional district, Vernon Councillor Barry Beardsell is contemplating seeking both the Area B and Area C representative's job in the upcoming November municipal and Regional District elections. When questioned whether holding down two additional responsibilities as well as fulling his Council duties would be possible, the Councillor brushed aside these concerns and confirmed that he would be able to handle these additional portfolios with no loss in the efficiencies and acumen* that he has demonstrated in the last three years. In fact he indicated that he if he was elected to the Vernon Council in the fall that it might be in a different capacity.

A glimpse of the motivation of this Machiavellian incursion into neighbouring political spheres was hastened by the expected demise of the GVSC and the expropriation of the taxing responsibilities to the full NORD Board. No doubt the sight of Beardsell sitting at the NORD Table leading the Vernon contingent with 20 of the 36 weighted votes might cause the head of the Nord's Chairman to turn in anticipation and worry as he became cognizant** of this regional territorial foray. Effectively keeping the taxing powers in the hands of those who actually have to pay those taxes seems the base motivation of this unique political gambit.

*acumen n. Quickness, accuracy, and keenness of judgment or insight.
**cognizant having or showing knowledge or understanding or realization or perception

BEARSDEL has been the only elected politician to possess true integrity...I agree, we need someone like him to be at the helm..LIPPERT has to be replaced

As much as I wish the Breaking News were to be true, I think Don Quixote is having a little fun at his readers expense and maybe giving Lippert a little heartburn!

Lippert should be casting around to see if he can buy back courtesy motors

He will need a job come end of November!
