robbery photo 7-11-aug-09

Vernon RCMP are asking for public assistance to track down a robbery suspect.

RCMP spokesman Gord Molendyk says, "On July 12, 2009 at 10:22 PM a male entered the 7-11 on 27th Street demanding money and threatened the clerk verbally. He had his right hand in his pocket but did not produce a weapon, the clerk gave an undisclosed amount of money and he departed the store on foot. The staff of the 7-11 store believes the suspect was in the store earlier in the day wearing no shirt. He had a bicycle and was picking up cans. The suspect was in the company of an unknown native male. It appears as if this suspect could be a street person that perhaps someone may have previously been in contact with.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, 45-55 years of age, 5'9", slim build with grey collar length hair, wearing a green t-shirt inside out, blue shorts, red ball hat, white shoes, white socks and black sunglasses.

The police are asking anyone who might recognize the suspect in this photo to call them at 250 545-7171 of call Crime Stoppers at 1 800 222 tips (8477).
