Being a good neighbour helped earn Kelowna an award at the B.C. Communities in Bloom Awards and Conference in Harrison Hot Springs last Saturday. Kelowna was named Mentor of the Year at the annual awards for its work helping the City of Vernon establish its own Communities in Bloom program. “It was very gratifying to see the work of our committee’s volunteers recognized as the best example of mentoring in the province,” says Councillor Michele Rule, who is also chair of the Kelowna Communities in Bloom committee.
