Police nail naughty Vernon drivers, hunt for vandals  Kate Bouey 10/4/2010 105.7 SUNFM

A few more people walking in Vernon lately. The RCMP report that four drivers were hit with three-day suspensions last Friday and another with a seven-day suspension. During the operation, North Okanagan traffic police also handed out 26 speeding tickets and 21 for other driver violations, including six for failure to wear a seatbelt.

Vernon police busted a small grow op in the 76-hundred block of Keddleston Road last week (Sept 30). More than 27-hundred grams of dried marijuana were found as well as 108 plants. A 27-year-old man has been charged with production, possession, and trafficking in illegal substances as well as theft of hydro.
And police report a vandalism spree at the Toyota dealership at 48th Avenue last Wednesday. They say a number of vehicles suffered broken windows and body damage resulting in about nine-thousand dollars damage. Apparently large rocks were thrown at the vehicles. The RCMP are appealing for witnesses.
