Coldstream should have a new fire chief later this week. Leo Lecavalier is retiring as chief after 27 years in fire fighting. District administrator Mike Stamhuis say the chief is normally elected by the firehall members, which is then sent to council for approval. "With Leo retiring, there will be that process where at their annual general meeting in January, the fire fighters will elect a name to put forward for appointment as fire chief." The new chief will be chosen at a meeting January 7th.
