``Sales Team'' To Be Set Up To Win Public Support For Proposed Track Facility - Greater Vernon sports groups to be asked to join committee

Greater Vernon politicians have decided they need a ``sales team'' to convince the public to support a proposed multi-million dollar track and field facility on Okanagan College land. The proposal is currently before the Agricultural Land Commission and will be the subject of a referendum later this year. North Okanagan Regional District staff have been asked to set the terms of reference for the new committee before sports groups in the area are asked to join.

It's great that they feel a need to form a "sales team" to convince the beleaguered taxpayers that we need this facility, but I'd still haven't heard any discussion about how will this Okanagan College complex will effect the proposed Kin Race Track complex?

Again, any info from anyone is appreciated.

Way too soon-they had better resolve the governance of Greater Vernon Parks and Rec first, they need to resolve the Kin Race track,etc.,etc.,etc.,

The college site make much more sense than fighting a costly legal battle for the Kin Race Track site.....taxpayers won't have the stomach for both. I puzzle at to why there isn't an open "recreational plan" driven by demographic need, user group priorities and limits to budgets...the whole process seems to be ad hoc, secretive, and impulsive! Time to change some of the players.
