Water Plan Still Active

It looks like the next step for Greater Vernon's water plan will be more talks with provincial officials. MLA Eric Foster says he has had clarification from Health Ministry officials after residents rejected the 70 million dollar referendum for six water projects, some mandated by Interior Health. "Nobody's dropping the hammer, we're going to work towards coming to a solution, and basically that's it." he says. Foster says "The comments they made to me, it's a huge expense, you know nobody's going to run in and say you've got to start work tomorrow or anything like that, there's going to be all kind of discussions on how we can get to where we need to be." Foster says the discussions will determine if there's a way to achieve higher water standards that might not cost as much.
